I’m writing to “Thank you” for the wonderful treatment you have given me throughout the last four years, for my RSD condition affecting my left ankle and foot.

    “Dear Doctor Gammel,

I couldn’t have asked for a more professional and expert physician to come to my assistance when I needed it the most. . . I honestly do not think that over the past nearly twelve years that I could have been treated by a more compassionate and empathetic physician. I truly believe that you are the best doctor that I have ever had.

During all the time that you have served as my pain management doctor, every single time that I requested your assistance regarding any issue that I was dealing with, you answered my request not only promptly, but also with the utmost in professional courtesy and care. For that Dr. Gammel, I am extremely appreciative and deeply grateful and I will never forget your loving kindness.”

From Distinguished References

  • D.R.

Past Chairman, Department of Anesthesiology, Mayo Clinic

“Evaluations by our staff indicate that he is a caring and compassionate physician who is very eager and dedicated. His evaluations note repeatedly that he uses good judgment in his practice and is easy with which to work.

I do not hesitate to give him an outstanding recommendation. Perhaps the best recommendation, however, is to note that we talked to him about joining the Mayo staff.”

  • R.C.

Past Chairman, Department of Anesthesiology, Mayo Clinic

“[Dr Gammel] has received training in all areas of anesthesia and has consistently been above average.

My personal contact with Dr Gammel as a resident in the neurosurgical operating rooms and on call has been considerable. His work habits are excellent, he has good social skills, and is technically facile.

Dr Gammel is always willing to inconvenience himself to do that little extra to help out a colleague.”

  • R.F.

Past Chairman, Division of Anesthesia Education, Mayo Clinic

“Doctor Gammel’s performance was outstanding from the start of his residency. His evaluations frequently praise his care of patients and his medical judgement.

Doctor Gammel completed an elective rotation in laboratory research and he showed during that time that he had the talent to do well in this aspect of anesthesia as well. His anesthesia training had also included special rotations in regional anesthesia, cardiovascular anesthesia, and pain management. He had also elected off-campus rotations to our affiliations in pediatric anesthesia (Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio) and obstetric anesthesia (Bowman Gray, Winston-Salem, North Carolina). Thus he was one of the most versatile residents coming out of our program.

Scott was an extremely likable guy who was easy to get to know and very popular amongst the staff and resident colleagues. He got along well with paramedical personnel as well. There was never any question of his ethical standards.

I confidently give him my highest recommendation.”
